    Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival - The Big Picnic

    Spring is here and we’re excited for this year’s Big Picnic presented by TD Bank Group on Sunday, April 14th at Queen Elizabeth Park, 33rd and Cambie. Thank you for contributing to our annual spring tradition, picnicking under the iconic canopy of cherry blossoms. We have an exciting line-up of performances, vendors and activities, and are excited to engage our audiences from all over Metro Vancouver!

    The North Shore Celtic Ensemble has the great honour of opening performances at The Big Picnic at 12:05. The event runs from noon to 3.

    Ignite Youth Festival

    Come and join the North Shore Junior Celtic Ensemble at the IGNITE! Youth Festival! Every year the CULTCH is taken over by hundreds of talented youth: the NSCE is celebrating 20 years of music in community and will be showcasing one of their groups of dynamic young musicians on Thursday, May 2nd!  Check out the lively set of fiddle tunes that will have your toes tapping and hands clapping long after you dance out of the theatre for the night. Prepare to be engaged!

    Annual Open House

    Do you have a child interested in joining our program?

    This is an interactive workshop for children age 8+ where your child will learn a new tune from current NSCE students while parents attend an info session about our programs. Auditions for our Strings & Things novice programs are available on the spot, or can be arranged for a later date. We wrap up the evening with a fun and casual performance of what we've learned!

    Where: Upper Lynn Elementary, North Vancouver

    When: 6:30 - 8:30, Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 (Please arrive on time so your child has the chance to participate fully)
