Vancouver's multi-generational string ensemble! Folkestra is a vibrant community music program for adult violinists, cellists, guitarists, mandolin players, accordionists, and pianists. Learn and play music together every other week in North Vancouver. All skill levels welcome. 



About Folkestra

Folkestra brings together a diverse group of adult musicians, including violinists, cellists, guitarists, mandolin players, accordionists, and pianists. Join us every other week as we gather to learn and play music, fostering a collaborative environment where musicians of all levels can thrive.

Discover the joy of building musical arrangements together, unlocking your creative potential, and honing your skills in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Whether you're an experienced musician or a beginner, our program is designed to cater to individuals with various levels of expertise.


When: Mondays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, every OTHER week. Spring 2024 Dates: April 8, 22, May 6, 20, June 3, 17.  

Where: North Vancouver, Highlands United Church, Room 201

  • Fall Session (Sep - Dec) 7 sessions
  • Winter Session (Jan - Mar) 5 sessions
  • Spring Session (Apr - Jun) 6 sessions

Who can register: ~17+

Class size: 9+ participants

The North Shore Celtic Ensemble has a dual mandate: To inspire youth to do more and go further with music, and to use music to build and strengthen community connections. We are a non-profit society and registered charity.
